Moroccan authorities deny US tourist rape case

RABAT - Moroccan authorities denied Tuesday that an American tourist was raped last week in the southern city of Merzouga following a police investigation.

Several news websites reported last Wednesday that US tourist Makoul Zoe Feer was raped by an employee in the toilet of “Salama” hostel in the desert city of Merzouga despite her refusal and screams.

The initial investigations revealed that the American tourist had “consensual sex” with M’barek Ait-el-caid.

For fear of being contaminated with a sexually transmitted disease, Feer asked for a medical examination at Hassan II hospital, which proved that she had no trace of rape.

She refused to be heard by the judicial police in Fez or sue her alleged rapist.
