Morocco King appoints Crown Prince as coordinator of FAR General Staff

RABAT – In a significant development for the Kingdom’s military leadership, Morocco’s King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), has appointed Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan as the Coordinator of the Offices and Services of the General Staff of the FAR.

The announcement, made via a communique from the Royal Office, underscores a strategic continuation of royal oversight within the nation's defense apparatus.

A Tradition of Military Leadership

This appointment mirrors the historical path taken by King Mohammed VI himself. The Royal Office noted that the King had ensured the coordination of the Offices and Services of the General Staff since 1985, a role he assumed as Crown Prince under the direction of his late father, His Majesty King Hassan II.
