Morocco’s army continues to distribute tents to quake-affected villagers

The Royal Armed Forces continue their ceaseless efforts to bring relief and humanitarian aid to hundreds of quake-affected villages, including the ones which can only be reached on foot, in the High Atlas mountains.

TAROUDANT PROVINCE - As part of their efforts to support the populations affected by the Al Haouz earthquake, Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces (FAR) continued in the Tizi N'Test Commune (Taroudant Province), the operation to distribute tents to shelter people whose homes were damaged by the tremor.

Initiated in coordination with local authorities, this operation, which aims to meet one of the urgent needs of the population in these difficult circumstances, targets families affected by the earthquake whose homes were destroyed or suffered cracks.

This initiative will continue at an accelerated pace to help affected families, alleviate their suffering and provide them with relief and assistance.

The army’s ceaseless efforts to bring relief and humanitarian aid to hundreds of quake-affected villages, including the ones which can only be reached on foot, in the High Atlas mountains met with feelings of great gratitude or admiration on social media.

Soldiers could be seen leading mules carrying tents to the very remote villages due to the difficulty of the terrain to accommodate villagers by the devastating earthquake ahead of the winter.

“Aftershocks, fatigue, exhaustion, tragedies during rescue... and they never stop fulfilling their duty... You have all our respect and gratitude, wrote Dalal Saddiqi on social platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
