About Us: Middle East Online (MEO)

The Voice of Reason, the Window of Enlightenment, and the Depth of Events in the Middle East

The late founder Dr. Haytham El-Zobaidi The late founder Dr. Haitham El-Zobaidi

Middle East Online was established in London in 2000 by the late Dr. Haytham El-Zobaidi, one of the pioneers of Arab digital media. The website was among the first – indeed, the second – digital media platforms to focus on Arab affairs and has maintained an active media presence for over twenty-five years.

The website serves as a knowledge bridge connecting the Arab reader with the world, offering a journalistic vision that goes beyond news reporting to reach the underlying analysis and dimensions. We believe the Arab region and the Middle East need free, bold, and open journalism that adopts the values of modernity and enlightenment while facing challenges with a constructive critical spirit.

All materials published in Middle East Online are under the supervision of an independent editorial board.

  • Chairman of the Board & Editor-in-Chief: Manal El-Zobaidi
  • Managing Editor (Arabic Section): Mohamed El Hadi Haidri
  • Managing Editor (English Section): Saad Guerraoui
  • Marketing Manager & Social Media Supervisor: Dunia El-Zobaidi
