Gatwick Airport warns of flight delays due to ongoing situation in Middle East

London Gatwick Airport spokesperson says they are expecting disruption to their Qatar and Emirates flights after airspace restrictions have been introduced in parts of the region.

LONDON -  London Gatwick Airport said on Saturday that some flights to and from the airport may experience delays or cancellations due to airspace restrictions in the Middle East, following strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran.

"Due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East, airspace restrictions have been introduced in parts of the region,"  a spokesperson said in a statement.

"This is a fast-moving situation, and we are expecting disruption to our Qatar and Emirates  flights," the spokesperson said, adding that none had been cancelled at the moment.
